WHY?

To survive and function in the world you need to put up healthy emotional walls. It’s just a part of living in a gigantic and unequal global community.

But every now and then, when you’re watching a movie, or reading a book, or listening to the radio you might come across a piece of art that someone has made that effects you on an emotional level.

Suddenly, your walls are left in ruins. This thing that someone else has made has gotten around your defenses, reached into your chest and, well, hit you in the heart.

This podcast is dedicated to the stories and pop-culture that mean the world to us. Part book club and part biography, each episode looks at two things.

  1. How the piece of art works and what makes it so much more effective than it’s peers, and

  2. Who we were when we first encountered it. After all, loving something is just as much about who you were and are as it is about the thing itself.

So join us each week as your bleeding heart millennial, hearty flyboy, and kindhearted oaf try to talk sincerely and emotionally about what connects with them, in the middle of a world that doesn’t always think that’s a cool thing to do.
